REQUIREMENTS FOR FORMATTING SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES

for the Journal “Vestnik of JASU named after B. Osmonov”

The editorial board of the journal “Vestnik of JASU named after B. Osmonov” accepts for consideration original scientific articles that correspond to the journal’s profile and reflect the results of completed or current scientific research.

1. General Requirements

1.  The article must be original, previously unpublished, and not submitted simultaneously to other scientific journals. 
2.  The material must correspond to the subject area and scientific scope of the journal. 
3.  The author is responsible for the reliability of the presented data, scientific novelty, correct citation, and compliance with publication ethics. 
4.  The article may be submitted in one of the journal’s working languages: Kyrgyz, Russian, or English. 
5.  The recommended length of the article is 5 to 12 pages. 

2. Technical Formatting Requirements

1.  The article text must be prepared in Microsoft Word. 
2.  Page format — A4. 
3.  Margins: 
   •  top — 2 cm
   •  bottom — 2 cm
   •  left — 3 cm
   •  right — 1.5 cm
4.  Font — Times New Roman, size — 14 pt. 
5.  Line spacing — 1.5. 
6.  Paragraph indent — 1.25 cm. 
7.  Text alignment — justified. 
8.  Page numbers should not be inserted. 

3. Structure of the Scientific Article

The article must contain the following mandatory elements:

3.1. UDC Index

The UDC index should be indicated in the upper left corner of the first page.

3.2. Title of the Article

The title of the article should be:

•  informative; 
•  concise and precise; 
•  reflective of the content of the study. 

It is recommended to provide the title in three languages:

•  Kyrgyz; 
•  Russian; 
•  English. 

3.3. Information about the Author(s)

The following should be indicated:

•  surname, name, patronymic of the author(s); 
•  academic degree and academic title (if applicable); 
•  place of work or study; 
•  position; 
•  city, country; 
•  e-mail address; 
•  ORCID (if available). 

3.4. Abstract

The abstract should briefly reflect:

•  the purpose of the study; 
•  the object and subject of the study; 
•  research methods; 
•  main results; 
•  scientific and practical significance. 

The recommended length of the abstract is 100–250 words.
The abstract should be provided in three languages:

•  Kyrgyz; 
•  Russian; 
•  English. 

3.5. Keywords

After the abstract, 5–10 keywords or phrases reflecting the main content of the article should be indicated.
It is also recommended to provide the keywords in three languages.

3.6. Main Body of the Article

The main body of the scientific article is recommended to follow this structure:

• Introduction
• Literature Review / Degree of Problem Study
• Materials and Methods
• Research Results
• Discussion
• Conclusion

If necessary, another logically justified structure corresponding to the scientific specifics of the study may be used.

4. Tables, Figures, and Formulas

1.  All tables, figures, schemes, diagrams, and photographs must be: 
   •  clear; 
   •  readable; 
   •  placed immediately after the first mention in the text or as close as possible to it. 
2.  Each table and figure must have: 
   •  a number; 
   •  a title. 

Examples:

• Table 1 — Main Research Indicators
• Figure 1 — Structure of the Model

1.  Formulas must be formatted neatly and numbered when necessary. 
2.  The author must indicate the source if tables, figures, or other materials are borrowed. 

5. References and Bibliography

1.  All sources used must be indicated both in the text of the article and in the reference list. 
2.  Bibliographic references must be formatted according to the journal’s established requirements. 
3.  The reference list must be placed at the end of the article. 
4.  Sources are recommended to be arranged in order of citation or alphabetically, depending on the editorial requirements. 
5.  It is recommended to use modern, relevant, and peer-reviewed sources. 

6. Language Requirements

1.  The text of the article must be грамотным and written in an academic style. 
2.  The following are not allowed: 

•  spelling errors; 
•  stylistic inaccuracies; 
•  colloquial expressions; 
•  unjustified abbreviations. 

1.  If the title, abstract, and keywords are translated into other languages, the author is responsible for their correctness. 

7. Originality Requirements

1.  The submitted article must be the result of the independent scientific work of the author(s). 
2.  The following are not allowed: 

•  plagiarism; 
•  self-plagiarism; 
•  falsification of data; 
•  fabrication of research results; 
•  improper use of other people’s ideas, tables, figures, and texts. 

1.  All articles may be checked for originality. 
2.  If violations are identified, the editorial board reserves the right to reject the article without further consideration. 

8. Submission Procedure

For consideration, the following must be submitted to the editorial office:

•  an electronic version of the article; 
•  information about the author(s); 
•  if necessary, a review, certificate, or cover letter; 
•  other documents at the request of the editorial board. 

9. Final Provisions

The editorial board reserves the right to:

•  carry out scientific and technical editing of submitted materials; 
•  send the article for peer review; 
•  reject materials that do not correspond to the journal’s profile or formatting requirements. 

Materials that do not comply with these requirements may be returned to the author for revision.
